The first Rebekah recorded was the wife of the Hebrew partriarch Issac, son of Abraham.

But the name Rebekah would seem to indicate that she was a "bound" woman, i.e. a slave. The Bible doesn't discuss how she got that name. someone in my 8th grade class was named rebecca and she was the biggest ***** you could ever meet. she seemed nice at first and then she gets all bitchy with you.
