Aliteration - its when each word in a sentence starts with the same letter e.g.
Fee Fi Fo Fum (i smell the blood of an englishmen)
(Sorry for the crappy example.)
Rhetorical question-one that needs no answer as it's obvious-eg Do you want to die in a car crash? (obvious answer.....NO!) Used in persuasive writing
List of three for emphasis: Do it well, do it fast do it now
Use of superlatives: This is the best drink/this is the worst school
Hyperbole: gross exaggeration
Emotive language to make the reader feel: These homeless, hungry babies are destitute.
Use of pronouns to identify the reader/writer realtionship: We all feel/surely you can see
Flattery:get the audience on your side-As I am sure your intelligence will tell you
And finally-good old OPINION as FACT: presenting beliefs as though they are factual truths: This is obviously the worst idea of course/ this type of holiday is excellent for your health

You could try using sensory description (describing through the 5 senses), using lists, or anecdotes. For more information on this you could listen to the podcast at:
http://www.gcsepod.co.uk/subjects/englis鈥?/a>
It has a chapter on language.
Hope this helps!
