Do name meanings matter to you?

If you found a name that you really loved, but then looked at the meaning and saw that it was horrible, would you consider changing the name?



Or if you like a name, then you are going to stick with it, no matter the meaning?



I am asking this question because my very close cousin is pregnant with her second boy, and she saw the name Cameron and fell in love with it. But when she saw the meaning - which is crooked nose - she decided against it.



I'm eager to see what people have to say about this.Do name meanings matter to you?
I choose names that have personal meaning to me, not their dictionary meaning.

i dont even look at name meanings 2bh. if i think a name looks nice or sounds pretty or unique then i like it.
Meanings matter to me as much as the name itself.
It doesn't matter to me at all. People aren't going to be whispering .. oh that's Cameron, you know his name mean crooked nose?! If you like the name then choose it. Personally, Cameron is on my list of names.
I personally don't care about the meaning of names. I have no idea what my first son's name means and I have no clue what the name we have picked out for my next baby means. Most people don't walk around knowing the meaning of names so they aren't going to associate them with it. I dobt people will go Cameron? Ew, that means crooked nose. LOL!
I love the name Cameron and the meaning wouldn't put me off atall
If i loved the name I'd still go with it..but that does suck that it means crooked nose ! maybe she can change the spelling i dunno lol
If I found a name that I really loved, but didn't like the meaning, then I might consider changing it. But it depends on the name. For example, I loved the name Emily, but it means "rival". I still like it, but it's not my favorite anymore. ?
I dont care about the meaning. I dont even know the meaning of my name.
I would choose a name because I liked the name, it would be a bonus if it had a special meaning as well but I probably wouldn't consider changing it if it didn't.

Meaning's mean jack squat to me, If I like a name I wouldn't change it no matter what it means, because I think the meaning's are worthless and not true. but still fun I guess
