To Japanese English speakers-name meanings?

I'm a big fan of the anime %26amp; manga Inuyasha, but in the English dubbed amine they pronounce %26amp; write the name Sesshomaru, but the manga writes it as Sesshoumaru-along with lots of other names (Shippou/Kikyou etc), but I really like the names as pronounced in the English anime.



I like the names so much, I could even name any future children these names, but I looked up their meaning and most of them seem to mean 'bad' things like 'killing perfection' and 'friendly dog demon'. If I named a child one of those names, but pronounced as in the American dubbed anime, does the significance disappear into something more...delicate or nothing at all in Japanese? I'm sure a foreigner wouldn't like to name their child 'evil demon' because it sounds nice to their ears, but later, if the child travels to an English speaking country, they would face alot of laughter or strange looks from people.To Japanese English speakers-name meanings?

Sesshoumaru is writing way , and we usually pronounce it Sesshomaru(sesshohmaru)

like Arigatou(means thanks) is pronounced Arigatoh



shippou and shippo , Kikyou and Kikyo are same



Kikyo is the only name which doesnt have bad meaning

because Kikyo is the only humanbeing of them.

Kikyo means a balloonflower or a bellflower

they (except Kikyo) are ghastly apparitions or half of it.

so they have weird name.

Japanese dont like to name their children'evil demon' either.
