I'm trying to do this very interesting write up about Naruto for those who want the insight of the series, all I need is a few name meanings. What does the name Sasuke in Naruto mean?
In technicality, the name 'Sasuke' doesn't have a literal meaning. In other words, it does not have an English equivalent.
However, if I might draw your attention to the suffix --- 'suke'. In Japan, 'suke' is a fairly common word to be tacked on to the end of root words in order to make them seem more like a name, and in this case, a *masculine* name. 'Suke' literally means 'help' or 'assistance'.
Kisuke, Daisuke, Yusuke, Sasuke, etc. are all prime examples of male, Japanese names.
The root, 'sa', probably has various meanings, but none of them hold a specific meaning that I could draw your attention to that directly relates to the name itself.
So, basically, Sasuke is simply a standard, distinctly male name with no exact meaning, aside from the loose interpretation of 'help'/'assistance'.
"Sasuke is named for Sarutobi Sasuke, a famous ninja who set off at age 10 to master ninjutsu, and who helped change ninjas' reputations from being black-magic assassins to elite heroes. Sasuke could live up to his name, but the original Sasuke had a sense of humor! Because the ltter for "wa" can be pronounced "wa" or "ha," "Uchiha" is a play on "uchiwa," or paper fan (like the one on Sasuke's jacket). In ancient Japan, uchiwa were used in court ceremonies, as souvenirs, and to protect soldiers from arrows (and much more!). Like his namesake, Sasuke can easily adapt to different situations."
This issue also has the meanings to Naruto's name and Sakura's name. But you only asked for Sasuke. Email me if you want the other two. What does the name Sasuke in Naruto mean?
I don't think there is any specific meaning to that name. Just like Tom or John... There might be some kind of root, but not a real meaning only to that name...What does the name Sasuke in Naruto mean?
sasuke means: i'm hot and you know it
lol j/k!! no, really...
but it has actually no meaning, just named after other ppl
The name is likely derived from Sasuke Sarutobi, the legendary first ninja IRL (Sarutobi being used for the Third Hokage)
Supposedly it means "help" or "assistance" but I'm not sure if this is accurate.
I believe it means Warrior.
