Do you think about the name meanings before using it?

When i was pregnant someone suggested the name Cameron. I started liking it but then my husband told me to look up the name meaning. I looked it up in the baby book and it means "crooked nose". The name has been totally ruined for me. Names that end is -son and mean "son of" are annoying on girls in my opinion. So do you think about the name meaning before using it?Do you think about the name meanings before using it?
the same thing happened to me! I loved the name caleb, Then looked up the meaning out of boredom one day, and it means dog. I lost all interest after that. So yes now i tend to look uo the meanings now. It doesnt bother me if it means hill or anything. but dog and crooked nose is kind of unattractive!
i think it's a horrible name and i think your child will be made fun of when they find out it means crooked nose. plus, i think it might jinx it and would be scared my kid might come out with a crooked nose. lol. i wouldn't use it. i wouldn't do that to my kid.

yeah, though I have to admit it didn't stop me with my son, his first and middle name has the combined meaning of 'divinely like the Lord' however I couldn't use a name with horrible meaning like crooked nose.Do you think about the name meanings before using it?
I don't. Who really cares what the name means? When you meet someone do you go and look up the meaning of their name? I think it would be a funny conversation starter if my name meant crooked nose.
